We also restore paintings, watercolours and prints in our studio, and offer quality bespoke picture framing.

Martin Snape - Gosport's Artist

Martin Snape (1852-1930) and his brother William Hamilton Snape (1862-1904) both lived in Gosport and painted views in and around the town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their work provides a wonderful visual record of Gosport and Portsmouth Harbour during this transformational time, as steam slowly replaced sail.

Richard Martin Gallery have long specialised in works by the Snapes, and Richard gives occasional lectures on their lives.
