The old three-decker HMS St Vincent was launched in 1815. In her prime she carried 120 guns and played a major role in the Crimean War.
Released from sea duty in 1862 she became a training ship for boy cadets with a permanent mooring at the mouth of Haslar Creek, just inside Portsmouth Harbour, until she was finally retired in 1905 and broken up at Falmouth in 1906.
