A long-time Gosport resident, he worked for many years as an illustrator at The News and as a graphic artist at HMS Collingwood, and has also taught at local colleges.
Richard has been a keen watercolourist since being given a set of paints as a boy, and takes great inspiration from the countryside and the local area. Inspired by artists such as Rowland Hilder and Jack Merriott, Richard has exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours at the Mall Galleries in London.
