Oliver Clare comes from a prolific family of artists in the Birmingham area. His paintings depict mostly still lifes of fruit and flowers often on mossy banks. Clare used a meticulous technique whereby his brush strokes are virtually invisible.

He exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Society of Birmingham artists.
