Atmospheric etching of Portchester Keep under moonlight.
In forty-five years of trading we've never seen this very scarce etching before. The original printed label on the back states "The edition limited to signed proofs only and the plate destroyed".

Joseph Kirkpatrick was born in Liverpool and trained at the Liverpool School of Art and at the Academie Julian in Paris. After earlier forays into other genres, in 1905 he moved to Curdridge and began painting and etching rural scenes in and around the downland of Hampshire and Sussex.
