An unusual 'tondo' still life by Barbaro who was born in Amalfi, Italy and settled in Newcastle where he married his wife Amy in 1897. He specialised in still lifes, as well as Egyptian scenes and exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute and the Royal Society of British Artists.
